No more commitments this year

Neville working out in gymThere are only a few days left until the end of the year, and as always, my mind is racing to finish all of my jobs that have been set and re-set over and over again this year.

But having ADHD keeps pulling me in different directions; I know what I have to do, but first, I must tidy up any mess that’s around me so I can see clearly to do those jobs that matter.

It’s time to get myself into gear by not taking on any more commitments, but that’s like standing in front of a mirror that’s lost its glass and thinking somehow I will see my reflection.

So, now I am on a mission to get everything I have been putting off this year done and dusted.

It’s a great start today as I believe wherever I am right now is the place to start, and my desk won; I have cleaned it, sterilized my computers, deep cleaned my chair, and sorted all the paperwork by putting it into Marilyn’s intray😉, making instant decisions. (that’s brave, I hear you say)

Can I shut my desk drawer, no, with all the spare things in there that haven’t been wanted for years? No chance of doing that today as I have to do this blog, the one thing I have to do.

At least I have made a start because if you don’t make a start, nothing will ever get done, so I have opened my eyes and added to my to-do list that I intend to tick off the rubbish in my life on the list that’s physically and mentally on it.

Before the year’s end, I will go through every room in the house, every drawer, every nook and cranny, whether in my private space or business.

So there’s no time to lose because those few days will disappear like the last ten months.

The moral is that when you take physical action, you feel better and accomplish goals, and new opportunities will appear for you without trying.

And there is always a bonus as I will find the things I have lost over the last few months, like the shoe, as I am sure we haven’t had a one-legged burglar here.
