Patience is the quiet power behind every long-term success we have ever built. We live in a world obsessed with speed.

Fast results.
Fast money.
Fast growth.
Fast success.

We didn’t grow Marville Properties overnight.
We didn’t grow Kiddicare overnight.
We didn’t build our identity overnight.
We didn’t develop discipline, courage, or momentum overnight.

And that’s the truth most people never learn:

Success doesn’t arrive when you want it.

It arrives when you’re ready for it.
Patience is what makes you ready.

Patience: The art of letting success catch up to you.

And here’s the truth I’ve learned over 52 years of building, even sometimes failing, then rebuilding, and growing:

Success is slow until it’s not.
And patience is what carries you through the slow part.

Patience isn’t passive.
It’s not sitting around waiting for life to happen.
It’s not laziness.
It’s not weakness.

Patience is active endurance.

It’s the discipline to keep going when the results haven’t shown up yet.
It’s the strength to stay consistent when progress is invisible.
It’s the belief that your effort will pay off, even when you can’t see how.

When Marilyn and I started out, we didn’t have the patience needed.
We wanted money.
We wanted experience.
We wanted a roadmap.
But most of all we needed patience as without patience you won’t survive.

All we had was work ethic, consistency, and now we needed patience.

We didn’t expect overnight success.
We didn’t expect shortcuts.
We didn’t expect miracles.

And slowly painfully slowly at times things started to shift.

Patience wasn’t something we practiced.
It was something we learned and lived.

The truth about growth that most people don’t want to hear.

Growth is invisible before it becomes obvious.

You don’t see the roots before the tree.
You don’t see the foundation before the building.
You don’t see the compounding before the breakthrough.

Most people quit during the invisible stage.
They stop right before the results were about to show.

Not because they lacked talent.
Not because they lacked opportunity.
But because they lacked patience.

Patience is the separator.

A story from the Kiddicare journey.

There was a period, years not months where it felt like we were working twice as hard for half the progress.

We were improving everything:

  • Systems
  • Service
  • Stock
  • Staff
  • Standards

But the results didn’t show up immediately.

And that’s where most businesses die.

But we kept going.
We trusted the process.
We trusted the compounding.
We trusted the momentum we were building behind the scenes.

And then suddenly everything accelerated.

People called it “overnight success.”
But it was years of patience finally becoming visible.

Success didn’t arrive early.
It arrived right on time.

Why Patience Is a Superpower.

Patience gives you:

1. Clarity.
When you’re not rushing, you make better decisions.

2. Resilience.
You stop breaking under pressure.

3. Consistency.
You stay the course long enough to see results.

4. Perspective.
You understand that setbacks are part of the journey.

5. Strength.
You learn to trust yourself deeply.

Patience isn’t waiting.
Patience is enduring with purpose.

The Three Types of Patience You Need.

1. Patience with the Process.
Growth takes time.
Compounding takes time.
Mastery takes time.

2. Patience with Yourself.
You will make mistakes.
You will fall behind.
You will have bad days.

Be patient but keep moving.

3. Patience with Others.
People grow at different speeds.
Leadership requires patience.

The identity shift that makes patience powerful.

Here’s the shift that changes everything:

“I don’t chase success; I prepare for it and let it catch up.”

When you adopt that identity, you stop forcing things.
You stop panicking.
You stop comparing.
You stop rushing.

You start trusting the work.
You start trusting the process.
You start trusting yourself.

And that’s when success arrives quietly, steadily, inevitably.

A challenge for this week.

Ask yourself:

“Where do I need to be patient and persistent instead of frustrated and frantic?”

Choose one area:

  • Your business
  • Your health
  • Your habits
  • Your finances
  • Your learning
  • Your relationships

Then commit to showing up consistently without demanding instant results.

Because patience isn’t about waiting. It’s about working while you wait.

And the people who master patience don’t just achieve success they outlast everyone else.

Let success catch up to you. It always does if you stay the course.
