
If you are on or have been on a journey of building a business for any reason, it is essential to include gratitude in your daily thoughts. Reflect on how you got to this point. Has gratitude played a part? And if not, is it time to re-think?
Most of us have a deep-rooted reason for what we do. Mine was to prove that I wasn’t the “stupid boy” my teacher said wouldn’t amount to anything in life. What’s your reason?
Any journey must include gratitude. Scientists tell us that the odds of being born are 1 in 400 trillion. Yet, with those incredibly low odds, all of us are here.
That means you matter, have a purpose, and are capable and worthy of doing significant things. Unfortunately, that Is not taught in schools, but I am sure there would be less conflict if it were.
Without the uneducated teacher, the bully, the poor upbringing of not being wanted, and friends and family telling you that your ideas are crazy, you might not have the willpower to achieve against all odds. So, the worse the circumstances, the better your chances of success.
Very often, gratitude comes way down the list regarding survival in life. However, it is better to have a list at some point that you can add to over the years. The sooner you start making one, the better.

For my mum and dad, without them stating the obvious, I wouldn’t be here; I am always wondering if I will ever see them again. What are your thoughts?
Marilyn, whom I met in 1966 and married for 54 years, we have created many wonderful stories and memories together.
Our two wonderful girls, Elaine and Joanna, whom we have had the pleasure of working with when most children fly the nest, they both stayed to work with us, giving us the joy they brought to our lives, which was immeasurable.
Two incredible sons-in-laws have become integral parts of our family and businesses over the years.
Our cherished grandchildren: All six of our grandchildren have unique traits, and the happiness they bring is terrific to share with them.
Our two precious great-grandchildren bring us joy as we see the next generation carrying on the family line.
Our friends and acquaintances have enriched our lives and been part of our journey.
Health: Focusing on mind and body, staying fit and healthy is paramount to a long and healthy life. Maintaining a positive outlook and being grateful for life’s blessings is essential to anyone’s diet and exercise routine.
Work and business ventures: Reflecting on our 50 years in business and the lessons we have learned, we continue to work and contribute with our mantra of doing more than you get paid to do.
