Have you ever repeatedly said to yourself, I want to, but I can’t, I want to, but I can’t without ever finding a solution?
That’s what I said to myself over the eight years of employment from 1965 to 1974: I want to find a life I can control, but how?
I was so unhappy employment-wise, and it all came down to being Dyslexic with a lot of ADHD thrown into the mix, which caused mayhem in my life with employers not understanding how to take advantage of how my mind worked to enhance their business.
Yet, I was so excited about my personal life: finding the girl I adored, buying our first house and starting a family.
It’s unbelievable that it took me so many years to understand what people were talking about when the term work-life balance was banded about, knowing that doing what I was doing would never give me what I wanted to achieve as a work-life balance.
So, after 50 years of working with Marilyn, my wife, creating multiple businesses, making every mistake there is to make in business, yet simultaneously making a fortune.
Now, mentoring others who want to achieve control of a work-life balance by showing them how we did it, as most people find it very complicated; they want to change, but they can’t without first changing their old thoughts.
We have found it can be challenging for people to change what they have learned over the past, so they have too much conflict in their minds to change.
So until they get rid of the past way of thinking, there’s no room for new compatible thoughts.
