Winners always find a way appearing behind torn brown paperWant is such a powerful word. Without it, I am sure we wouldn’t get very far in our lives; that one word can mean so much to us. What was your first thought when you read the headline?

Did you think positive or negative? I was raised in a family with very little disposable income, so my want was abruptly answered with a No; you can’t have whatever you were going to ask for.

With the following words ringing in my ears, “I want doesn’t get”, how sad is that? Why do I say it’s sad? Because, in most cases, it stops creativity in its tracks if taken notice of, it demoralises people, especially children, into a world of compliance and disillusionment, an easy but misunderstood brainwashing on the parents and society’s part.

If only those misguided parents like mine knew that a few positive words could make such a difference to the children’s lives and their own in the bargain.

I love to hear children say I want as it allows them to get the education to help them throughout their lives.
Want at the dinner table turns into please, can I have some etc. etc.

Then, as they grow up, saying I want a phone, a bike, a car, a house and a million things in between, no problem; the answer is, you just need to figure out how you will add value to other people’s lives to receive whatever you want and the more you want, the more value you will have to be to others.

Everyone needs to start encouraging a child from birth, but sadly, too many people stop the encouragement as soon as they have been potty trained, and that’s just plain potty😊, sorry.

So want, and work are two of the most significant words intertwined with success in all aspects of life.

You can get everything you want in life if you will just work on helping enough other people get what they want.
