*INJUSTICE* STUDENT KICKED OUT OF CLASS…. BUT THE REASON WHY WILL SHOCK YOU.

I believe that justice is not just a legal or political concept, but also a moral and spiritual one. It reflects how we treat each other as human beings, how we value each other’s lives, and how we create a fair and peaceful society.

One of my favourite quotes on this topic comes from Cornel West, a philosopher and activist who said: “Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public”. This quote captures the essence of what justice is all about. It is not just about enforcing laws and punishing wrongdoers, but also about expressing love, compassion, empathy and respect for others, especially those who are oppressed and marginalized.

Justice is what love looks like in public when we speak out against racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia and other forms of discrimination and hate. Justice is what love looks like in public when we support causes that matter, such as human rights, environmental protection, social justice and democracy. Justice is what love looks like in public when we donate to charities, volunteer for social projects, or simply help someone in need. Justice is what love looks like in public when we are kind to ourselves and others, when we forgive and seek forgiveness, when we listen and understand.

Justice is not something that we can achieve overnight or by ourselves. It requires collective action, cooperation and solidarity. It requires us to challenge the status quo, to question our assumptions and biases, to learn from our mistakes and grow from our experiences. It requires us to be humble, courageous and hopeful.
