Mancetter Square Peterborough covers 120,790 sq ft and is home to some 60+ industrial units offering a variety of services from furniture stores, MOT service centres, car-wash, bespoke wrought iron works, printers, upholstery services, car repair services, a café and lots lots more.
Upon taking over the site in 2013 it was a ‘rubbish tip’, there were about 10 tenants and the estate was making a loss. To upgrade the site I initially spent:
- £30,000 on skips to remove the rubbish
- Implemented a new trading policy for all the tenants
- Introduced a new and improved management service
- Re-organised all unproductive areas
- Upgraded the investment from a negative to a positive in the first 4 months of trading
It now has over 50 tenants and there is a waiting list of companies that want to move on to the site. In the last four years I have spent a further £1 million improving the site for tenants and I have three people on site permanently to do maintenance work. It is a really good place for people who have just started a business as I don’t demand a deposit or references. I do it because I want to put something back into the city.
