Decisions

If you make a big life-changing decision, then stick with it. I am not talking about the everyday stuff; it’s the decisions that will change your future.

In 1974 I was standing in the welfare office begging for another £2 a week to feed my family; fortunately for me, my begging fell on deaf ears.

The man who was listening to me begging had total control of my life until I said that I would look after my family myself right from that moment.

Standing safely behind the large counter smirking at me, he said, sign here, then you can do what you like, so I did, leaving me without any benefits for that week, knowing now there are no real benefits to the benefits system.

In that instant, I decided that there was no way on this earth that I would go cap in hand to him or anyone like him ever again.

That was the most significant decision that completely changed my life; along with any decision you make, a reason must enforce it so as not to go backwards; the re-enforcement for me was that.

There was no way on this earth that I would go cap in hand to him or anyone like him ever again.
